Re: Any Hampton Roads VA mamas?
Hey Mamas
![]() I'm having a photo shoot the weekend of July 10-11 and I need models! Other than the dates, nothing has been set yet...I'm not sure of the location, but I can pretty confidently say it will be somewhere in Norfolk, VB, or Chesapeake. Not sure on the time either, probably early evening...my photog thinks we'll get the best light then. Erin Lundy is my photographer, she's a friend and an amazing artist. Great with kiddos. You'll get to keep any diapers your child wears for the shoot and I'll give you a coupon for any diaper off my website for free too. If you'd like more info, or if you're interested in participating, send me a PM. Thanks ya'll!

Re: Any Hampton Roads VA mamas?
Hey ladies!!! I just found this thread! We just moved to the area 6 months ago and are still getting aquainted.
Anyone deliver at Naval Hospital Portsmouth? Right now I am on track to deliver there but had a terrible experience with previous naval facilities. Anyone have any good suggestions on an OB/midwife who supports natural birth? (I didn't get much support the first go around and hoping this time will be different!)

Re: Any Hampton Roads VA mamas?
Megan, i had a few ultrasounds there that were fine. Delivered (naturally) at Langely though and it was awesome, see birth story in my siggy
I did have a birthplan in place and they followed it wonderfully and even allowed some things i didnt expect, like letting dh clamp and cut the cord after waiting 12ish minutes for it to stop pulsating, keeping the lights dim during delivery, and not dropping the end of the apart either)

Re: Any Hampton Roads VA mamas?
Hey Megan! I delivered at PNMC. I had a great experience. I did have an epidural, but I had great care. I was seen throughout my pregnancy at Sewells Point with the Midwives. I found them all very supportive of BFing, CDing, natural and organic living. I would have delivered naturally but I wanted to be part of a study about epidurals and how red heads react to the medication in them. Mistake on my part, but it did not impact thier care for me. It was my choice and I had a bad reaction to it. The care I got during the epi was very good. My stay lasted 48 hours and I only had 1 nurse I wanted to smack. She kept forgetting to get something at every time she came in to take my vitals overnight - so she basiclly kept me up all night long coming and going.
Hope you have a good experience! We'll be back in HR within the next year. Hopefully sooner than later.... glad to know there are a bunch of Mamas from DS out there! We moved away just before I started to really get into CDing. So in the last 3 years, what has changed? Is there a CD store yet???
