Diaper Swappers

This has probably been asked before...just can't find a thread. Sooo my little plan to start CDing again part time is quickly turning into me wanting to do this full time (not sure about over night yet tho.) I think by the end of the week I will have 8 pocket diapers. How many do you all recommend? Maybe to give me at least 2 days between washing. I am using my 6 right now and hate to wash every day such a small load. Thanks!

Oh, and DS is 1 year old.

hmmm it depends on your child and how often you change... I know at 2 yrs old I have 11 pockets and it lasts 1 and a bit days... I guess I am no help... hope someone has better advice.

I go thru 7-10 per day & use sposies for night time. I wash every other day at night so they are ready the next morning. I have 14 pockets that I like & use, and then supplement w/fitteds or prefolds when we run out.

Take the number of diapers you are changing per day X the # of days you want to have between washing.

For my 2 1/2 yo it's 6 per day and I want to go 3 days so 18 is how many I got (pockets).

ETA: Plus maybe 2 extra for bad doo doo days! LOL

We use 6-8 during the day usually. I try to wash every other day to cut down on the stink and help with staining. But I have enough dipes for 3 days so I don't have to worry about rushing them out of the dryer or anything,lol!

You could always buy the minimum # of pockets you think you will need and have some good quality prefolds as backups. It is cheaper than over-buying the pockets, and you could always add more.

yeah I guess I could count the number of disposables...

but then that would have been waaaayyy to easy for me!

I am planning to have 12 fitted, 12 prefolds, 4 PUL covers, and 1 wool soaker for my new born.
