Poop question

I started dd on solids and since starting her on them she's become constipated. I gave her some prunes and it helped but then she just got backed up again. Should I hold off on solids for a little while or is this normal when starting solid food?
Thanks for any input!

Re: Poop question

How many days has it been since she has pooped? What are you giving her, and how often?

She was only pooping every few days and she was really straining to get one small hard poop out. I was giving her Sweet potato's, prunes, apples, carrots, and peas.

How much are you giving her? maybe try cutting down the amount and gradually increasing as she comes more accustomed to it?

My DD did that for a couple of weeks. Keep fruits like apples, pears, and prunes coming.

Ditto on the stay away from apples and go heavy on prunes, but also make sure she's getting plenty of fluids.
