Tracking & Insurance should be Requried on ALL DS Transactions!

Is anyone else with me on this?
I think that tracking should be required on all ds transactions atleast 5.00 or more. To protect buyers and sellers.
I say this after reading a thread of a newbie not recieving a package from a person thats been around a while for 9.00 and seller doesnt have tracking said it was included in price.

Heres my outake before everyone says its to much cant afford we should have to pay:
Thats fine if we have to pay just include it in your shipping price.
.14 cents if you print postage and i think .75 cents at the post office.

if they dont get it atleast you have that for proof of delivery.
I also recommend if anyone sales anything valued at 30.00 or more to put insurance on it as well. If its breakable or valuable its about 1.00 and some change under 50.00 value or 2.05 over 50.00.

I say this b/c what if something gets lost, gets stolen, or breaks during shipment? the buyer will want you to refund them due to lack of packaging or something lik ethat since sellers are always to blame for usps delivery times and handlings, if this were to happen and u have insurance on an item the buyer is to keep all packaing it was in and item and bring to closet post office for insepction. thats if items have been broke, for stolen or lost you just need thepaper and they investigate i guess.
but its for protection for both b/c im sure you wouldnt be able to refund 50 here and 100 here for simply not putting tracking or insurance on an item


really think about how petty it seems mamas not tracking your packages you can ask for pp fees that cost more then tracking but cant insure your pacakges? id rather insure them then worry about pp fees i see that as fees to be able to bst online!

please no mud slinging i just want everyone to recieve the packages with no troubles!

I think that is great for American mamas, but for Canadians, it just isn't possible for most transactions. Shipping with D/C from the US to Canada starts around $14, same with trackable shipping from Canada to the US, or even within Canada. Canada Post includes free insurance with all packages, but I have no idea how much of a hassle it is to collect on it because I've never had a package not arrive at it's destination.

We have an announcement recommending it but we have no way to enforce it and require people to do it

in order to bst you have to provide tracking?

and if they dont they are not allowed to bst after say 2nd time they dont or something?

You know, I have NO problem:

Taking a credit card payment
getting DC
getting insurance
getting signature confirmation
getting TRACKING via UPS

What I DO have a HUGE problem with is that EVERYONE expects the seller to eat it all. Where exactly is the buyer's responsibility in this?

Protect yourself. Especially if it's an expensive purchase you can't afford to eat should it never show up.

DS can't enforce anything. This isn't eBay, and all online buying is "buy at your own risk". If sellers were forced to purchase insurance and ship through UPS or FedEx to track their packages, not only would it be totally inconvenient, but it wouldn't even be worth it to sell anything.

Isn't it the buyers responsibility to ask for insurance?
