Re: cosleeping question...
I'm a relatively stable sleeper, meaning I don't move much. I seemed to have a 6th sense of where I was, where my pillow was, where the covers were, and where DD was in relation to all of that. I just sleep around her now.

Re: cosleeping question...
DS is only 5 months and have used a co sleeper although lately I have been bringing him into bed around 1 am. When he was little I liked him in the co-sleeper but now it's easier to have him in bed. I have www.familysleeper.com and am getting ready to remove the co-sleeper and use this.
ETA: you could, when he was that young I definately propped him in my arms if he slept in my bed. Couldn't just have him next to me, I worried too much, not now that he's bigger, he's right next to me.

Re: cosleeping question...
I have something similar to what the pp has, but mine is the snugtuckpillow.com I think it serves the same purpose, but is cheaper. If your bed is up against the wall, then you wouldn't need it at all. I would think that you could just set her next to you, which would probably be safer than holding her in your arms. I have read in multiple places that mother's have a sort of sixth sense about their babies whereabouts and will not roll over them unless under the influence of drugs/alcohol. You should be fine. It might take a bit of getting used to, but soon it will be totally natural.

Re: cosleeping question...
We used a co-sleeper. It worked wonders. Just like baby is in bed with you but a bit safer because they are in their own little square. If we have another baby I'm getting the full size version. I'm actually wanting to sell my mini, it's khaki and so cute but I will want a larger one for next time and it has a small spot inside that needs mending because dd #2 liked to climb in it a lot causing a small rip.

Re: cosleeping question...
Just bring her in bed. I always held my babies in the crook of my arm until they got a little older.
Easy peasy!

Re: cosleeping question...
I've found that I am a very light sleeper when I cosleep with a tiny baby (through at least 9months). I put the pillows way up high and back, and only use a sheet, I place baby up against me right on level with my breasts (which is where they want to be anyway) and we sleep like that. I won't move at night if he is next to me. I can tell if his breathing is off or anything. Then at about 9 months I sleep a bit heaviers and after 12months I will start moving in my sleep again. Now sometimes I sleep facing away from him even, but at two that isn't a huge deal. He is big enough that I'm not going to roll onto him, and he could stop me if I tried. He does however roll over on top of me.

Re: cosleeping question...
I slept with my babes in the crook of my arm when they were newborns. I kind of slept sort of on my side propped on pillows and never raised the covers above my waist.

Re: cosleeping question...
I just lay him next to me . . .but I haven't been a heavy sleeper since I was pregnant with our first.
