Smile RIT dye vs dylon?

I know that lots of you use dylon. Has anyone tried RIT? It is on sale at Joanne's for a great price but I haven't heard anything about it. I bought a few packets of the dylon but need more. I figured I'd wait until I found out more about it.

rit will give you a much less vibrant color than dylon --dylon's colors are much more vibrant but I have used rit occasionally too for darker more rock and roll faded shirts

RIT works, but it looks more faded from the beginning and it will fade more over time.

Re: RIT dye vs dylon?

I used RIT and regret it immensey. Every time I wash them some of the color washes out and stains my other dipes. All my inserts from cottonbabies are now green. It's not worth the hassle when you can get dylon for a few pennies more and get better results.

Thank you for the info! I'm glad I went with the dylon then. I had a handful of the rit and put it back since I hadn't heard any reviews on it. I'm going back for more tomorrow and will continue with the dylon. Thanks again!

Re: RIT dye vs dylon?

I just bought 16 packages of Dylon at wal-mart yesterday for $1.98 each! I was just in JoAnne's friday evening and the rit was on sale for that price but dylon was full price. I have the worst luck... Oh well, I've already dyed over half of them, lol...so I guess such is life.
