Talking Flats vs prefolds?

I haven't used flats in 16 years, but I am giving in because I feel really drawn to them. What are some of the positives to them vs the prefolds? I am actually considering changing my co-op order I have to just 2 dozen flats (I am ordering some infant prefolds because I am planning ahead ). There are many many ways to fold them, which actually is getting me psyched for them... but why do I think that 2 dozen won't be enough once they get here ?
Can I pick you alls brains for pros and cons? Help me figure this one out please ! TIA !

Re: Flats vs prefolds?

I wish I could be of much help. Do you have a site or some place that has the folds that get you all excited?

I have bambo ones that I have touched maybe twice. I do not think I can use a snappi on them and I have no pins as I refuse to poke myself or the baby as I am prone to surely do! LOL I keep thinking I am going to sell them but maybe I just need to put more effort into using them?

The prefolds I just find easy with a snappy.

Good luck with this!

Re: Flats vs prefolds?

Some of the pros over pfs are:

~~you won't find anything that will clean better or dry faster
~~they are truly the only one size diaper (one flat folded several times will take care of an infant, two flats, doubled and folded less will take care of a toddler)
~~if you get birdseye they are the most durible diaper out there
~~they will fit any shape baby

I'm sure I could think of more given time and more coffee.

You will need more than 2 doz unless you wash everyday. Once an infant is out-peeing one flat you will need two to contain the wetness for every change. Two dozen will only yield 1 dozen dipes once coupled.

Here is the site will all of the folds:

Have fun!
