I haven't been knitting very long so these aren't that great. I see so many posts on here of perfect works so I thought on behalf of the newby non-posting closet knitters, I would share what I call my

LEARNING HAT
I had an idea in my head of what this would look like when I started this for my husband. However, having never knitted before and deciding to make my "own pattern" made for a different outcome than anticipated. I only have a size 10 needles and my dh picked out the fabric. I'm not sure if you can really appreciate how rediculous this turned out until you see it on my head looking really dumb.

The only thing about the hat that I am proud of is that I made my own motif pattern of a Land Rover because my dh is into them and that turned out really cool.

Here is the kicker....on my head. I look terrible but just ignore me.....I think I made the hat look worse if that is possible.

I also made a scarf for my dd who loves it!!

And a bottle holder with my first ball of real wool yarn. I haven't felted it yet and am a bit scared to. I didn't drop a single stitch like I did with the hat and the scarf. I tried and tried to fix my dropped stitches but I just couldn't so I just went on.

Thanks for looking and laughing! Maybe next time I'll follow a pattern and my dh will wear the hat!!!!!

That is awesome

it's definitely a learning process but I'd say you're doing well! I love the action pic of the hat especially; that gave me a good chuckle

. You'll be surprised how drastically your knitting improves with each project.

hey did you try that hat on your LO yet, I bet it would be cute i you could lay the point down.
I am on skill level with you, maybe worse, these great knitters make it look really easy(:

As a matter of fact, I just tried the hat on dd. I turned it around and folded the point of the triangle up as a cuff. It was so cute. She wasn't happy about having her picture taken so you can't really see the cute pointy back of the hat but it really is cute. Now I just have to tack that cuff up so she can see. Enjoy the pic...she is the cutest!!!
