Diaper Swappers

I often have to go to the PO to pick up my packages b/c I'm rarely home when they arrive. So, today I go to the PO and one of the nice ladies behind the counter asks, "Oh, are you picking up packages for T-H-E-L-E-N (she spells it out)?" I tell her yes, and she laughingly replies, "You sure do get a lot!" Well, I think it's funny that I seem to be the only person who comes and picks up packages on a regular basis (2-3 times/week) at the PO; enough so that she would know who I am w/o looking at the "Sorry We Missed You" note to see what name is on there!

Gotta love fluff! It brings you closer to ppl, doesn't it?

yeah... they do, but from bringing things to my door, not from me going in!!!

Yes, and she has told everyone in town how cool the diapers are! I may get some converts out of all my trips to the PO.

LOL yup the man at the counter does! its so bad he gave the postal rates and a zone chart LOL he even asked what i keep mailing and i told him cloth diapers and he was REAL interested in them!

i guess all thats left is to get a scale!

My old one did. We just moved in June, and our regular mailman here has been on vacation. I have a feeling I'll be getting to know them at the PO though b/c I'll been gone during the day now. Our new PO is super tiny, only 1 counter worker, so it shouldn't take long to know who I am.

yeap ... i went to three years of grade school with his son ...
we live on a rural post route too so most people know most people
if we get a really big delivery that won't fit in the box he just opens the front door and leaves it in the entry LOL
I did find out that one of the two ladies that work in the post office (her kids were my mom's students when she taught school) has a daughter who also cloth diapers in another town and buys hers online
so yes we all know each other. At least I never worry that I'd need DC or something coming here. If it makes it to the post it will make it to my house

The one that comes to our house doesn't know me from Eve... But the lady where I mail my packages asks me everytime if there is something liquid, hazardous, ... in my packs and everytime I respond to her just stuff to cover kids butts. She doesn't even crack a smile. I am sure she knows me I am there every single day pretty much. But she is the snotty type that wouldn't admit to it if she did. She doesn't even comment on DS and you know how heartless people have to be to not even smile at Babies... I think she is the real life grinch that stole USPS packages!!!

Well I live in the middle 'o nowhere so my mail people know me

From the local PO where the postmaster is usually the only person working (he's very nice too, and when he's not there his wife is working) to our mail carrier, who has to stop and play with our dog when she brings a package to the door, they all seem to remember who we are

ETA - the UPS and FedEx people know us by name too!

The lady at the PO counter knows me and my kids. Everytime I come in she says "Let me see what cool new diapers you're mailing today!!"

The first time I showed her my diapers (kissaluvs fitteds, WAHM AIO's and WWBs) she asked me where I got them. So, I told her all about DS and she said "Wow, I bet this could really take off in a few years" BWAAAHAHAHAHAHA It was all I could do to just nod my head and act like I was some Cloth Diapering Pioneer!
