using up fruit juice/nectar
My son is on a high (natural) fructose diet so I'm feeding him lots of fruit... some from cans. I buy the "in 100% real fruit juice" variety and now find myself with lots of thick fruit juice after draining and serving the fruit.
The kids don't need to drink that much straight juice - nor do I... but what to do with it? Most of it is pear juice. Any creative ideas for using it in recipes?

Re: using up fruit juice/nectar
I have the Popsicle molds and pour 100% juice in them and throw them in the freezer...they're super yummy! If its too sweet, then just add some water.

Re: using up fruit juice/nectar
Smoothies maybe? Careful with the pear juice though, it can cause some pretty runny poops! I learned the hard way recently with my little guy's soup poop diaper.

Yum!I also use regular fruit juice and mix it about 1/2 and 1/2 with club soda to make "soda". They end up drinking more water, less juice (we've had dental issues), and they really like it. I'm not sure if that would work with the juice from the can, but it might!

Re: using up fruit juice/nectar
This recipe uses fruit juice to make oatmeal...

i second the "pop" and popsicle ideas! you could use it to replace water in just about any hot cereal / breakfast item. lik the pancakes that just call for water... or cream of wheat....
