I use only Allen's Naturally for diapers. I bought a quart when I first started CD'ing and it lasted almost a year! Now I have a whole gallon of it that I expect to see us through to potty-learning.
I do a cold soak first, either plain or w/Bac-Out (just a squirt or two), followed by a hot wash/ cold rinse with about a tsp. of detergent (liquid) and sometimes, a Downy ball full of white vinegar. This is followed by an additional cold rinse and then everything goes in the dryer on low heat. Anything still wet gets hung to dry after the first cycle. Easy-peasy!

Cold Soak
HOT (160 degrees) wash with 1/8 tsp. of Allen's Liquid (we have REALLY soft city water)
Catch the wash before it goes into a cold rinse and restart the HOT wash cycle again.
Cold Rinse
Pockets hang dry and dryer for inserts, fitteds and AIO's.

I use Charlie Soap here! My wash goes like this:

30-min cold presoak w/ 5 drops TTO & 1/4 cup baking soda
HOT wash/cold rinse with 1 tbsp of Charlie Soap
extra cold rinse to make sure all bubbles are gone

Cleanest diapers I've had & no more evil whitening enzymes from Tide!

Biokleen with Grapefruitseed oil, but I think I'm about to get Charlies. The Dawn idea above has intrigued me though...
