Homemade Hummus
Everybody seems to rave about how easy it is to make your own hummus ... but last time I tried, it tasted really bitter and icky. I'm guessing it was the tahini that I was using (I've never tasted tahini before, but the little taste I tried before throwing it into the blender tasted icky to me). Should I get the roasted or raw tahini? Salted or unsalted?
Also is it okay to use canned chickpeas instead of cooking dry chickpeas for hummus? |

Re: Homemade Hummus
Anyone used dried chickpeas for this? I have some, and I realize I'll have to soak them and cook them before I can make hummus with them. Just wondering if anyone does it this way and if you have any tips! (Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread!)

Re: Homemade Hummus
This is THE Hummus recipe! You have got to give this a try!
http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...ad.php?t=95887 My DH and I can eat a whole batch for lunch. I am normally a hummus purist and thought you HAD to have tahini in a good hummus. Boy, was I wrong. This is soooooo good. Really, you HAVE to try it! |
