Using fruit juice instead of sugar.
Does anyone know how to do this? My DH wants to use fruit juice concentrate instead of sugar in our recipes. Are there any conversion charts or anything anywhere? We're trying really hard to eat better and it's hard
.thanks in advance!

Re: Using fruit juice instead of sugar.
Check out the book Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron for a lot of recipes using fruit juice concentrates. I've heard white grape juice concentrate is one of the best substitutes for sugar b/c it's clear and doesn't really have a distinct FRUIT specific taste.
Also, no matter what I'm baking, I always cut the sugar by half or more, and I have never had any problems with taste or texture. Most sweet recipes call for way too much sugar anyway. Good luck! |

Re: Using fruit juice instead of sugar.
I've never done this but it's a good idea; I might have to try it!
I wonder how the cost works out. We buy the natural sugar that costs $3 for 3 lb. I wonder if getting some generic white grape juice would be cheaper. Though I guess I could also try cutting the sugar back like pp said.
