OMG.. there is a diagnosis for that itching - I had to have had it... I had it at the end of my pregnancy and after dd was born for about 2 months. The only cure for me was a super does of Fish oil each day... It's late and I can't remember what it's called - Omega 3 maybe... a friend with psorisis recommended it. Cool showers helped too

I'm so mad at my DR that she didn't know what it was !! ERRR!!

And here I am. It's 1:40am and I'm awake again because I'm itchy. I went to be right around 11pm and tossed and turned and itched for about 30 min before falling asleep. 1am I wake up to pee and I'm itching again and now I can't sleep.
Grand total for sleep for the night so far 1 1/2 hours! woohoo, yeah for me (note sarcasm) I'll probably get back to sleep about 3-4am if I'm lucky and the kids will have me up at 6am to start the day. *sigh*

I would also have your ob run the blood test for ICP. It is very serious and the only way you know that you have it is to do the special liver blood test. {It isn't the liver test they normally do}. After having Abbey stillborn, I met a mom who lost her baby 5 days before her due date and she had undiagnosis ICP. {The midwife told her it was PUPPPs}.

Here is the link for it..

Good Luck Mama! Please keep us posted and I hope your itching stops soon!

Yeah I'm going to ask her about that today too. I don't have any of the symptoms except for the itching (my palms and feet do not itch and that's a major one for ICP) and the lack of sleep so I think I'm ok but I'll ask her anyway.

My friend had PUPPPS when she was pregnant with her twins. She swears that Noni Juice is what helped. She drank it every day!

A woman I know, who is also an author of some excellent books, wrote a bit on PUPPs because she had it as well. From what I can tell, she does a pretty good overview on it and what types of things work or dont work.

http://www.naomikritzer.com/motherhood/PUPPP.shtml

Check it out, she might have some suggestions to help you.

Re: I think I might have PUPPPs :(

Thanks everyone, I'm going to try some of these suggestions.

Well my OB says it's definitely PUPPPs She gave me a prescription for some steroid cream but I'm not going to fill it just yet, I want to try the dandelion root tea first and see if that helps. She also said that I can take Benedryl at night to help with the itching and help me sleep.
I didn't want to have to take Benedryl but right now I'm pretty desperate, I have only slept about 8 hours in the past 3 days and I'm beyond exhausted. I need rest and right now if Benedryl is going to help them I'm going to take it.

Other than that, baby looks great so my constant itching and lack of sleep has seem to have had no affect on her.
