Re: Give me the low-down on solids-poo, please!

Wow, thanks you guys--that really helps! So, does anyone care to explain the "peanut butter" stage Do you "wet pail" that, or put it straight into the washer after rinsing?

LOL--this is the "not-so-fun" part of diapering, huh?

I just spray it off, and dump it in the dry pail with the rest of the dipes. I have never used a wetpail, so I can't help you there...

I still put that peanut butter poo straight in the wash- but it's more on the liquid side than the solid side kwim? I got a diaper sprayer in the mail but haven't installed it yet.

Re: Give me the low-down on solids-poo, please!

I am in pb poo right now. Honestly, I just shake off what will come off, and what doesn't, goes into the pail. I use a dry pail. I change her wherever I happen to be at the moment, lol. I have an official changing area in our bedroom, but the pail is in the laundry room. So I clean her up and put on a clean one. Then I take the poo one to the bathroom, give it a good shake and the rest goes into the pail. I do a cold wash with the works...baking soda and detergent, vinegar rinse, then a hot wash with the same. I have never had a stain yet, and they smell fresh and clean.

I use to rinse them out first, but it got old real fast and they get just as clean with what I am doing now.

Re: Give me the low-down on solids-poo, please!

I never bought a sprayer and never needed one. Maybe its because I have a pretty efficient washer, but whatever stickies were left over simply came out in the wash. I might have used a bit of toilet paper to ease it into the toilet sometimes, but I can count that on 1 hand and my dd is 10 months now.

I am moving so my changing station is going to be different in the new house, but here, since we spend so much time downstairs, my changing station was in the living room and I just folded the diaper in half and walked it to the bathroom after a change and dumped it, then put it in the laundry room where I put it in the bag. No biggie really. The girls have their own bathroom, and I do have a changing station up there too, but I have never used it. Go figure.

I was just going to ask about this too as we're starting our 1 ice cube-of-food-a-day stage.
Great suggestions here. Any more?

It's really not a big deal at all, as long as you spray when the poo is still fresh. if you let it sit, it becomes harder to get it off.

Verbatim...............

Re: Give me the low-down on solids-poo, please!

I am in rare minority that sprays BF Poo I guess so I have been doing it from day one. I take off the diaper on the changing table and place the dirty diaper in the little plastic bucket the hospital gave us. It sits there until I have a free moment and then I spray it off with the minishower and use the bucket to transport it back to the nursery where our diaper pail is. Now, our house is pretty small so the space between the nursery and the bathroom is super small... I thought about having two dirty diaper areas so I wouldn't have to transport a dirty sprayed diaper back to the nursery but with the bucke and our space being so small it is no big deal.
