is there a better prenatal vitamin

I'm kinda embarrased to ask this, but is there a better vitamin that doesn't constipate you? Currently I'm taking exact brand, I've only been taking it 3 weeks and I'm starting to feel the effects. Maybe I'll have to go to the pharmacist and see what they recommend. And yes I'll try and up my fibre intake.

I'd check with your local herb shop or health food store

I have used Nature's Plus prenatal and love it. They are kinda big pills and VERY green but I have never had a problem with them. It may be that the iron source in what you are using isn't a good one.
That can stop you up big time

I take Target's brand of Prenatal. LOVE it.

Have you asked your MW or OB about taking Colace?

When I get too stopped up, I just skip the vitamin for a day or two, or take colace. Usually just not taking the vitamin helps.

It's the iron in the vitamin that does it.

I've been taking materna for almost 3 years now, and I've never had a problem. Hope you can find something that works for you!

Thanks, I knew it was the iron. I can't remember what I used with DS and I remember that I stopped when I was nursing (oh bad me I know) for the same issues I'm having now. Maybe I'll try Materna.

I take NOW brand. They make really good quality stuff. You have to get it at a health store. Now brand you take 4 a day. When I was preggo, I divided it up one with each meal and one at bed time and felt fine. Now that I'm bfing and not nauseous I take two in the morning, two at night.
I couldn't take Materna when I was pregnant- couldn't keep them down. I don't think they are a comparable quality either.

I take walmart brand and never had any issues with it. My friend had issues so the dr told her to take the flintstone vit and she never had any issues after that.
