An interesting EC observation and a big YAY! too

So my interesting EC observation is that when my daughter (almost 10 months) is teething, she uses the potty more (less wet diapers). I'm going to guess it's because she's not as relaxed and doesn't pee when she has to (rather waits until she's on the potty and reminded to go). Anyone else notice that?

When she's teething, we have lots less diapers to wash

And my big YAY is that we went ALL January without a poopy diaper! She pees on the potty a lot during the day, but she still has wet diapers too. The poops are our big win. We were only having about 1 or 2 poopy diapers per month but I was so proud of her for having none in all of January. And now that she's been signing so much it's even easier to know when she has to go. The last two nights at dinner, she's started signing 'potty' toward the end of the meal and I told her to just hang on, she was almost done with dinner and then I'd clean her up and take her to the potty. She totally understood and waited. It's amazing when they start to understand and communicate!

Thanks!

She just started clapping yesterday too. So now she's miss busy hands. When she first sits down on the potty she's all about signing potty until she's done. Then she claps and grins and then gets all serious and signs all done. It's hilarious!

yay! I'm so jealous. Can't wait to communicate more with my 7MO. Plus, we have a weird potty strike where all her poops go in the diaper. yuck.

We had lots of potty strikes when we EC-ed with my older daughter. It seemed like she didn't want to use the potty whenever she was teething, learning to crawl, learning to walk, etc. We only part time EC-ed with her. Our younger daughter hasn't had any potty strikes so far. I attribute it to starting so early with her (within a week or two of birth), whereas we started at 5 months with my older daughter.
