Wool Blanket and ECing

So I have seen they have wool blankets to catch misses.... could I just find or have grandma knit me a wool blanket or does it have to be special somehow?

Re: Wool Blanket and ECing

You can use Grandma's knit wool blanket, a piece of wool from the fabric store, a sheep skin, an old wool sweater. Whatever you want. If it's a knit item, you might consider felting it so that the fibers are tighter. You'll loose about 50% of the size when you felt wool. You can often find nice wool flannel at the fabric store for under $10/yd. It's easy to felt - just wash and dry on hot 4 times, and you're set. You can lanolize it to make it waterproof if you want, or just leave it. It will absorb up to 30% of it's weight before feeling wet. Felted wool makes great lap pads!
