Re: Cloth diaper newborn through small for $17

Love that! Just a question, though. Does the baby poo come out of the sides, or is it pretty good about catching everything? Would it be safe to use with wool, or would a double-gusset PUL be better?

I know I put her diaper on a little loose in the picture and it looks like it would leak, but I do a bit of a "side wall" fold and have no problems with blow outs. and with the tri-fold washcloth doubler, the wool works fine too, especially when I use some of the left over sweater to make a contoured piece and stitch it in the wet zone of the soaker for a double layer.

I wish I would have known about these when I had my 4lb preemie dd. We just used the infant prefolds (which I can STILL put on her at 14 months LOL). They were SOOO big!

My friend is due in September and has tough pregnancies (usually tiny babies who arrive a bit earlier than they should). I will stock up on the wash cloths for her and show her how to do it. PLUS then you have plenty of cloth wipes going forward, as well!

THANKS FOR SHARING!

wow, what a fantastic & inspiring system! The wash cloth diaper is very cute too! Love your soakers too! I've promised myself to keep my diaper stash simpler the next time around.

The washcloths fit my dd up to about 12-13lbs, but my chunky monkey ds' til maybe 11lbs, then they fit infant pfs pretty well. You can always graduate them to megapack kitchen towels, or costco mf towels for inserts if you can get your hands on some pockets, the towels come to about 35 cents I think when you buy the 36 pack! I came up w/ a practically one size pattern for wool soakers now too, so they should last her til PL'ing, yay.
