Re: What did you/ do you eat to help nasea in the first trimester?

The only thing that helped me was ginger ale. Ginger is supposed to be really good for MS. Ginger tea was too strong for me and ginger snaps too sweet. I only liked ginger ale and it had to be room temp, don't know why.

I have heard the sour thing before too, I know they give chemo patients sour candy at the hosp I used to work at, maybe it helps w/ nausea too.

Good luck apparently the MS thing is going around several mamma's have been posting about it lately.

Think ginger like pps said. Whatever form helps you most. Crystalized is good. Also lots of fiber. Not necessarily in food although if you can stomach beans they would be perfect. But even like Beneful 'hidden' in something you can easily tolerate. Seriously. I had serious nausea with all 4 of mine. The first two were the worst and I wound up being hospitalized for dehydration with them. I eventually was given a perscription for them. But I stuck it out my last two. Ginger and fiber really did help me. Keep in mind nothing will be perfect, just ease it. Also don't always think harsh brans for your fiber, those may be too hard on a tender tummy. I'd say try like the 'Benefiber' or your brand of choice first. Seriously, there is NOTHING there to hurt baby so at least you can feel good about that. HTH Hope you feel better soon.

Re: What did you/ do you eat to help nasea in the first trimester?

Like PP said, it helped if i REALLY listened to my body. I had to eat before i became hungry. I also ate whatever seemed good to me at the time. Some days, i only ate matzah crackers, other days it was loaded nachos! Also, papyaya juice seemed to help a bit on days that it was really bad.

The worse part of the early days was that my dog had a digestive problem for my first 2 months, so cleaning up his puke alwayd made me puke! It was a never ending cycle of vomit! LOL

i tried some granny smith apples today and it is helping
i just hate that i only pretty much feel better when I am munching pretty much ALL the TIME
luckily (right) I don't puke so I don't have to worry about dehydration just that I'm going to at any moment
thanks for the suggestions ... keep them coming

Sour candy! I seriously always had a sour altoid (tangerine) in my mouth for the first 15 weeks of this pregnancy. Crackers were good too, and ginger ale, but sour candy was the best.

Re: What did you/ do you eat to help nasea in the first trimester?

Last night I ate some olives and they soothed my stomache almost immediatly. So for me it may be salty stuff. A pp said milk!! AHHH! Not for me! I am terrified of throwing up milk or citrus foods.

I really do believe the pp's that said your body craves what it needs. I also think you will need to try these suggestions everyone is giving you to see what works for you. We are all different and not everything will work for us all....unfortunatly! I wish there was a miracle cure for it!! LOL

Good luck mama, hope you feel better soon!!

The only thing that helped with this last pregnancy was to eat CONSTANTLY. It didn't really matter what I was eating, just as long as I was eating.

I liked sour candy, too, especially lemonheads!

HTH.
That was me too. I remember once while preggo with Hazel, going out to eat and getting a bowl of lemon slices with my iced tea lol. Anytime I started to feel sick, I bit into one.
