Re: At what age did your LO start crawling?

DD started crawling right at 9 months, and was walking somewhere between 11 and 12. A friend of mine had a baby that NEVER crawled -- he went straight to walking at 14 months!

Re: At what age did your LO start crawling?

My DD started combat crawling at about 10 months and regular crawling at 11 1/2 months.

I personally enjoyed not having to chase after her, because now I'm exhausted!

Thanks for the input mamas! I'm not going to push him, he'll crawl if/when he's ready I guess.

Mine rolled everywhere too . It was amazing how he went through doorways, room to room without bonking his head! Mine was a week before his first birthday before he crawled. He cruised for months (hands on the wall, looking like Spiderman) before crawling, so we thought he'd just walk. The Dr. said (in hindsight at the last visit... 2 1/2 years old) it was because of his reflux. She said that crawling is one of the most uncomfortable positions for a reflux baby. They learn that it hurts and they stop trying. He was always a little behind physically though, so we just thought it was that.

Re: At what age did your LO start crawling?

My daughter will be 7 months old on the 20th and has just been taking an interest in crawling within the last week or so.

She can get herself into the crawling position, but I don't think she knows what to do from there 'cause she just ends up taking a header into the carpet/floor.

She's also been pushing her upper body up, then cramming her feet underneath her and pulling her lower half into a standing position and having her upper half just pushing up off the floor. It looks funny and it almost always results in frustration and/or falling.

The other babies at daycare are similarly aged (there are 5 babies all within 8 weeks of one another... my daughter is the youngest of the 5)... the oldest, the second youngest and my daughter aren't crawling yet, but the other two are.

Re: At what age did your LO start crawling?

#1 - 11 months
#2 - 10 months
#3 - 8 months and not crawling yet. I LOVE that they don't move - once they start crawling you have to chase them everywhere!

Re: At what age did your LO start crawling?

dd1 was 7ish months when she started crawling and 5 days before she turned 1 she was walking
dd2 was sitting at 4 months, barely crawling at 5...fully crawling and chasing us at 6 and 2 days later she was pulling up...now shes just turned 8 months and has been crusing on the furniture for at least 3 weeks
like ppl said there is a WIDE normal range. we get weekly updates from babycenter about milestones and my dd's have always been 'ahead' but as long as they are learning new things weekly i try not to pay much attention to what they should or should not do at a certain time
