Re: At what age did your LO start crawling?

He was 8 months when he started army crawling, before then he would scream when placed on his belly or back out of frustration of not being able to move. He is still army crawling but starting to try "normal' crawling now at 9 months.

my 1st and 3rd were both 8.5mts, my 2nd was just over 5mts....4th's not crawling yet (obviously, shes not even 3mo!) but she gets around a bit with rolling and scooching and wont be shocked if shes an early crawler like abs though im not making any bets

Our pediatrician says crawling isn't on his list of developmental milestones because the age range for normal is such a huge variation, including "never crawled."

But here's how old my kids were:
#1) 5-6 months old
#2) never
#3) 8-10 months old (can't exactly remember)
#4) 8-10 months old (I get the last 2 babies mixed up.)

Re: At what age did your LO start crawling?

My oldest didn't start crawling until he was 10 months, he also didn't take his first steps until he was 4 days shy of 15 months.

my middle son did an army crawl where his legs were limp and his arms did all the work at 8 1/2 months, and crawled at around 9 1/2-10 months

and the youngest scooted at 7 months, and crawled at 8 months.

I wouldn't worry just yet, babies all do things at different times. I for one would just enjoy the time you have left before he gets mobile

Re: At what age did your LO start crawling?

Most of the kids I see crawl around 7-8 months but it truly does depend on the child. This last year I had one little girl that didn't crawl until she was 11 months and my own child rolled instead of crawling. She would point herself and roll to the object she wanted she went from that to walking.

Abigail is 8.5 months and still not crawling. She started scootching at around 7 months and I think she's content with that. She gets on all fours and on her hands and toes but doesn't do anything, just waves her butt in the air. She can't figure out how to move her arms.

Re: At what age did your LO start crawling?

My 6 1/2 mo. DD has not acted like she's interested in crawling at all. She sits unassisted and has for at least two months now. She wants to stand ALL THE TIME. But, when I put her on her belly she does the same as Sean. There seems to be such a range of ages for the other mamas here, I feel better. Like hotfudge73 says, we should enjoy not chasing these LOs around all over for as long as it lasts...lol.
