Cue words-
What are they?
Do you have one for pee and another for poo? or do you use the same one for both? TIA for taking a moment to respond!

Re: Cue words-
I pssss for peeing and grunt for poops, but I'm pretty sure that he recognizes plain "go wee wee" and "go poopy" too.

we just do "pssss" for both. Try to keep it simple, plus I don't feel so silly making that noise when we're out whereas with grunting...
But this does bring me to my next question that i was actually going to post- what is the sign for potty? We never did it with DS, and I think it really would have helped, so I want to start doing it with DD, but i have NO idea what it is!

Re: Cue words-
[QUOTE=nalazimbala;2749574]we use the sign that actually means "toilet" but it's easy - place your thumb between your index and middle finger while making a fist and shake your hand from side to side...does that make sense?
yup, makes sence- thanks so much!!!

Re: Cue words-
We didn't know that there was a sign for toilet (or rather, it wasn't in the "babysigns" book that we had) so we just made up our own. It was one fist on top of the other, like you hold a baseball bat (with absolutely no rationale for why we chose it). It has been transformed into clapping by DS, and while it can be confusing at times (esp for other people), it comes in handy when he's out of sight, like in the car seat (rear facing still) because we can hear him signal that he has to go. We're working on getting him to say "potty" and I know he can, because he always says "I did it!" when he goes (if he can say that, he can say potty).

Re: Cue words-
For us the cue word never seemed to make any difference, when we held her is she had to go she would. When we did though we said peeing in a drawn out sing song voice.
