Question Who washes their diapers in WARM and not HOT?

I saw on the bumGenius/cottonbabies website that they recommend washing their diapers on WARM. I have seen this for a select few other diapers as well. It probably works just as well as hot with the right detergent. I thought washing in HOT would be more sanitary, but that may just be an old wives tale. I would LOVE to save money by doing warm instead of hot washes (if I can get over the hump mentally to just do it).

So what do you all use? What have you tried? And have you had any issues with dipes washed in something other than hot (ie. more rashes, etc)?

TIA!

Stacy

I actually kindda do all three. I have a ton of hemp so I do a full rinse with cold then WASH on warm (that is put soap in on warm) then I do another "rinse" in hot with calgon. Call me crazy, but it's what works for us.

Definitely hot! Warm just does not seem sanitary enough for me. When I was in massage therapy school it was repeatedly stressed that it was state regulation to wash your sheets in hot water- otherwise they are considered unsanitary.

I know that washing on warm probably extends the life of the fabric, which is also probably why it is recomended- but I still say HOTTTTT!!!!!

I do a rinse with cold water and then do a full wash run in warm and have not had any problems. There are no odors and they seem 100% perfectly clean.

I do mine on hot and then about once I month I bump the temp on my washing machine up to sanitize. I've accidentally done them on warm before but I redid them b/c I don't htink it'd be as clean.
