Re: NIP: To cover or not to cover...that is the poll question

I don't cover up when NIP because I am no good at doing it and the blanket ends up falling. When I NIP you can't see anything it just looks like I am holding my baby close plus I don't cover my head up when I eat.

I voted other. I think you should be discreet, but not exactly be covered.

My shirt did enough to cover me so I was what I consider discreet. Someone would have to really LOOk to see any major skin action there.

But, I have seen women who will pull their entire shirt down under their boobs, almost in a defiant way. Being overly dramatic does nothing to help NIP advocates.

I personally think it's all in the attitude. If you feel perfectly comfortable NIP uncovered, then you should. But, if that makes you feel uncomfortable, you should be as covered as you like.

Pepends on the location and those I am with. YEs, I have the right to nurse anywhere I am aloud to be , and yes if it offends others that is their problem, not mine but!

I also have a responisiblity to my Dh to be modest and discrete and to God and I don't want to make others uncomfortable. FOr what to prove that I can???

So I cover when it is needed, and not when it doesn't matter.

I hope that makes since.

I picked other: I don't NIP very often. I also try to wear certain shirts when I will be out and use them as my "cover"

but mostly I go to my truck or somewhere private and nurse... DS HATES to have his head covered while eating

Re: NIP: To cover or not to cover...that is the poll question

We NIP all the time, and have since the beginning, and I don't cover up. Heck, I consider myself lucky lately if Henry isn't pulling down the other side of my bra to play with the other nipple while nursing. I am in no way self-conscious about it, and no one has ever said anything negative to me.

My mom isn't extremely comfortable with how comfortable I am with it, but she is a woman who pretty much didn't leave her house for the first 16 months of my life because she was scared to nurse me in public. I refuse to do that.

In a way, I feel like its my responsibility as a lactivist to NIP and NOT cover up, because only by treating nursing as the normal, right thing to do will society ever view it as such.
