Pre Folds and covers

When using PF's under covers, like BSWW's, do you have to still pin or snappi them?

I do, I think it makes them trimmer.

Re: Pre Folds and covers

You dont have to, but I do. The bsww fits funny imo if you just trifold, it makes it like baggy on the sides. But with it snappied(or pinned) they fit great. jmo, nak

Some covers are made so you can just fold the diaper up and lay it in. Some have a roomier fit and will not work quite as well.

I prefer to pin mine before I put the cover on.

Re: Pre Folds and covers

With a snug fitting wrap, you don't have to. You can fold and lay in the cover. HOWEVER, be prepared to get poo on the cover more often because you don't have that secured. I'm really getting good with my snappi. The only time I get poo on the cover is if she's saved it all up or if I didn't know she went poo and it seeped through the pf. But she's still 100% BFed. So if you have more covers, then I'd say go for it. We only have a few, so we snappi.

Re: Pre Folds and covers

Like pp said, snug covers with aplix (wraps) you can lay in. I prefer side snapping covers and you always need to pin or Snappi those first. Some wraps have a little pocket in the front to hold the trifold better like Bumkins, Rikkis Wraps.......

Re: Pre Folds and covers

BSWW never worked with a tri-folded prefold for me...way too baggy. (Bummis Original will work though, but I don't have pics.) For PUL covers our favorite is Bumkins...

Here's pics of a small Bumkins with a tri-folded infant prefold...

Here's a pic of a med Bumkins with a premium IPF trifolded...

Re: Pre Folds and covers

I only trifold in a cover...I find proraps work the best for us. I found Bumkins fit to be great, but didnt like the scratchy laundry tabs. Bummis worked well and I didnt find it to be that poofy...but again, proraps won hands down...I just wish they had cute prints!
