WTH! My lo just peed through a GM!

My lo just got up from a nap wearing a OBV GM with no cover. He'd been up for all of 5 minutes & was standing next to me when I heard splashing. He'd pee'd right through it! And not just slight wetness on the floor, I'm talking full on puddle!
I got the dipe of fsot a few days ago and had washed it before he wore it. Do you think I need to strip it? What's going on? I have a switchbox on the way, Help!

A nap with no cover? You're a brave soul....

How long was the nap?

Might he have maxed out the absorbancy by peeing during the nap?

How weird! Did he pee through the legs, or right through the diaper? You had the soaker snapped in, I assume (LOL!)? I wouldn't be surprised at dampness on the outside, but a puddle? Craziness!

You're not alone though, I let my dd sleep coverless for naps quite often. We're partly EC though, so she often will just potty after naps instead of going in the diaper. It's not as scary as it sounds!

(It also helps when your kid refuses to nap for longer than an hour )

Re: WTH! My lo just peed through a GM!

I've never been brave enough to let my lo crawl around coverless, and I've never let him take a nap coverless. My ds is a pretty heavy wetter so it's gotta be covered by something.

If you like going coverless for naps, I've found that adding a hemp doubler to the GM works really well. Sometimes when I take the cover off after the nap, the outer part of the GM is still dry.

HTH mama. I'm sure you will still love your switchbox, and if not there will be plenty of mamas on here who will gladly take them off your hands

he might have just peed really fast?
if the diaper was saturated maybe it was just "user error"?

Give it another chance!

Re: WTH! My lo just peed through a GM!

He didn't even feel damp on the outside when he woke up.
I woulnd't call him a particularly heavy wetter, except first thing in the morning. The nap was around 1.5hours. He pee'd right through the diaper, I checked to make sure the soaker over his "bits" not like bunched up or something and it was all in fine.
Oh and also when I took it off it was soaked at the front but even most of the soaker was bone-dry.
BTW the reason he went coverless is mainly because it's around 100 degrees here today!

Re: WTH! My lo just peed through a GM!

My LO can soak crazy amounts of padding (a HH stuffed with 3!! microfiber inserts in less than 3 hours), but I've never had a puddling issue before. Did you actually see the puddle form? I'm wondering if there's not some repelling issues going on. I'd strip for sure.
