I woulnd't call him a particularly heavy wetter, except first thing in the morning. The nap was around 1.5hours. He pee'd right through the diaper, I checked to make sure the soaker over his "bits" not like bunched up or something and it was all in fine.
Oh and also when I took it off it was soaked at the front but even most of the soaker was bone-dry.
BTW the reason he went coverless is mainly because it's around 100 degrees here today!
Wow! I forgot it's mid-summer for you down there!

Maybe the diaper was almost new when you got it, and it's not fully prepped? If it was older, I agree with trying to strip it...

Re: WTH! My lo just peed through a GM!

DD did the same thing with a different fitted. It was her first pee of the morning, and it was a very fast stream...the dipe couldn't catch it all fast enough! It was so loud, I though she had gotten the diaper unsnapped and off, but nope, pee stream straight down, landing loudly on my carpet!

He probably needs some sort of cover put on when you get him up if he's dry! Since he held it while asleep he decided to open the floodgates and the dipe couldn't quite handle it all!! Have you tried a wool soaker? I adore ours, and they are trim and breathable! GL!

There were times when my son would "power pee" through a diaper. Most of the time it would be because he woke up dry and had a lot of pee in him. I would suggest a cover if he's dry after a nap just so he has that extra protection.
I'd also strip it and wash it a few more times just to be sure it's not that.

I love the notion of "power peeing", like power suits, or power walking, or powerade. I think I sold you this gm mama, and it was brand new, I would say prep it some more.

Nope not the one from you, this one's older (not as soft) I may try stripping it (I've never had to with any others before).
Thanks everyone for the advice!
