I've NEVER tried wool! I know.....now I need help!!! Advice? Directions?

I'm getting NEW shorties for DS....LOL I'm working with a great ds mama; mom2hanjc!

ETA: I'm also having a pair of wool jersey pull on covers made for me by another mama. I need to know about those too!

Please tell me all about this stuff.

How do I use it?
How do I wash it? And how often?
What else????

Thanks mamas, I know there is lots of info on here but I really need ALL the advice possible as I'm very new (and not wool educated yet) to all of this....LOL.

i LOVE kozy designs/BJM
theyre so soft and snuggly!
wool washing
if they arent pooped on then you can go a few weeks between washings
to wash put some water in the sink and and add some wool wash., let them soak for 15-30 minutes, i do 30
hang to dry or lay on a flat surface on a towel
i lay mine on a towel, keep your wool away form direct sunlight
add some wool balm once theyre dried to the inner of the wool then some to the outer of them, thats ll
i LOVE ITS it smells so nice and is so easy to use!

ooh ooh, I JUST started using wool last week!

I got me some sheep soap and sheep balm from Ignite the senses, and she has washing instructions on the site.

I was so afraid to try it, but I am looooving it! And you only need to wash it once every two or three weeks unless it gets poo on it.

You're gonna love your shorties from Angie!(check my siggy ) I too just started using wool, and now have 5 pieces. I use mine with fitteds because I have never used a prefold, but someday hope to. Right now, I have 3 pairs of shorties. I just change the shorties with each diaper change, and let them air out. I wash them every few weeks, when they get pooped on, or when they're dry and still smell like pee. Just a warning, you're gonna want to buy the wool wash and lanolin that Angie uses, it smells SO yummy. I bought it and love it so much!

How I wash mine:
rinse in cool water
fill sink with warm/cool water add wool wash
add wool to sink and swish a few times
let sit for about 20 minutes
gently squeeze excess water out-but don't wring
but it on a towel and roll it up in it to get out even more water
let it dry lying flat for about 48 hours
I have spray lanolin and I do that wet or dry.

I like to wash my wool with gentle dish soap and spin it dry in the washer. Then I hang it to dry in my laundry room. Be sure to rinse well, because it helps your cover go longer between washes. Rinse before you wash and after.

I am in love with wool. My dd loves to wear dresses and wool soakers look so cute on them. As for washing, I would get a wool wash bar. I just got one from Naturally Luxe and it is wonderful!
