Lansinoh Milk bags??? + added question main post 3/29/08

Ok i storage 300 or so ounce of "mommy milk" as DH calls it in the freeze at any one given time
(i pump 2x a day =about 24oz in addition to nursing my son...if i don't i end up with engorged boobs )

every 2mos i will thaw milk for my son feed him that and pump to replace it ...repeat till all "old"milk is replaced in the freezer with "new"milk ...yeah i go thor a ton of bags

1st ~ i freeze my milk mainly because i don't want to waste the extra milk my body is making ...

2nd ~ with Scott my 1st baby , i got a wound infection from a foot surgery and i was put on some mage antibiotic and told not to nurse (the back storage i had in the freezer gave Scott 3 1/2week worth of mommy milk , that he would have not gotten otherwise)....

3rd ~ I am possible facing yet another foot surgery my 6th...not the doc's fault , just how my feet developed & now my right big toe will not stay in the joint

so here is my Question i have been using Lansinoh Milk bags are these BPA-free???

NEW QUESTION~
anyone know a site i can buy Lansinoh Milk bags at a deal?

Re: Lansinoh Milk bags???

According to the Lansinoh web site, the bags are made of Low Density Polyethylene and Linear Low Density Polyethylene.

Neither of those kinds of plastic contain bisphenol-a.

i had the same thought.. I re-use our storage bottle after a serious washing.. i liked the bags more becuase with DS we didnt have our deep freeze while I was pumping but now with DS#2 space wont be an issue.. so i may just stick with the TONS O'bottles i have already.. but I would IMAGINE ( dont quote me cause im sure there are problems and are probably difficult to properly wash) but... i think they could be re-used.

Re: Lansinoh Milk bags???

I wouldn't re-use them; among other things, because I lack confidence that the seams would stand up to repeated use.

i didnt think about the seams... i had some that fell out of the freezer when it was opened( no deep freeze and stuffed in crowded freezer lol) and picked up and put back in and when they were thawed the fall had busted the seam...

I wish someone made bags with the durable seams of the Medela bags and the double zip closures of the Lansinoh bags. Those would be perfect!
