Re: Helpful Homeschool links

There is a forum with so many good links for free/cheap but quality stuff. Go to welltrainedmind.com/forum
It is a classical education based site. You can buy the book and see how the Trivium is laid out. We are not talking worksheets and reproducibles here.
Here is good example of a free science curriculum you can print:
http://www.eequalsmcq.com/ClassicScienceLife.htm

I think too often parents approach learning at home with worksheet after worksheet because that is easy and "gradeable" KWIM? There is a lot of "meat" out there!

Re: Helpful Homeschool links

A couple I didn't see listed yet

Free curriculum
www.theheadoftheclass.com

Discovery channels homework help/homeschooler site (not free)
www.cosmeo.com

www.thinkfinity.org I haven't had much time to look at this but I saw an add for it yesterday while I was dozing in front of the TV (Kearnan was kind enough to share a stomach bug with me and I didn't do much but snooze/pop meds all day yesterday). I know it is free for me, but we have fios, I don't know if it is free for non-fios users or not but it is worth looking at. Looks like it may have some good stuff on it.

free learning games

http://www.learninggamesforkids.com/
we have been taking advantage of the keyboarding games especially.

I didn't see this anywhere. Lesson Pathways You can use it as a curriculum or just use parts to supplement what you are already doing. I'm loving it.

Re: Helpful Homeschool links

I don't know if anyone has posted this yet but it is amazing http://mrdonn.org/ lessonpathways uses a lot of the stuff on this site for their history curriculum links but there is so much more on there. You have to do some of the leg work yourself to assemble it but it is great. When I decided I want to do something extra (like a unit on Egyptian Gods) we head over there.
