Re: When could your dc wipe themselves? Sorry if tmi!

I put other, because while dd (nearly 5) has been wiping by herself for #1 since probably about age 3 or 3.5, I (or dh) still usually help her when she goes #2 because 1) she doesn't do a great job and 2) if she does it herself she'll use up the whole supply of fc trying to do a good job.

Dd got a mild irritation (red, itchy skin, but no yeast or other discharge) that was quite uncomfortable for her, and that cleared up any confusion about the need to wipe front to back for her like no ammount of my explaining could do. I felt so bad for her, she was miserable, but it only had to happen once.

I was just wondering about this! Whilder is 21 months and just starting to wipe herself. I'd say for pee she actually does pretty good, but I think it will be a while until she can do it all on her own and do a good job.

To this day- she doesnt mind if its the cloth wipes, or dads flushable wipes, as long as she has something moist, she nevers misses a spot, no marks in her unders- always clean.
Oh that is encouraging to here, I hope that will be us!

My DD is 3 and I still help her wipe her butt, she has to try wiping on her own first, but I make sure she is clean.
I remember that my mom still helped me until I was almost 5. I needed to learn so I could wipe my own butt when I went to school!

Re: When could your dc wipe themselves? Sorry if tmi!

DD just turned 4, and she wants to do it herself. Problem is, after she wipes, she wants to LOOK at the toilet paper to see what's on it. I'm trying to make her understand you don't need to SEE if there is poop on the paper.

A side story:
My mom tells me that my grandmother wiped my uncle's butt until HE WAS 12!!!
