they ask for the SSN is it safe?
I really do not like when I have to give my SSN online.

Like I said, it's a personal call. I feel it's safe. Some don't.

Re: RME?

paypal asks for SSN too
when you think of it the same as paypal... makes me feel okay
just look and make sure you see the little padlock symbol when you are doing it. it means the info is secured

the simple answer to that is no. rme is JUST a money exchange. there is no buyer OR seller protection. in comparison, really paypal doesnt have that protection either. you can FILE a complaint, but that is no guarantee of getting your money back even with a delivery confirmation number. if the person has no pp funds in their account, you are SOL.

as far as the ss#...any bank does that and especially now with the patriot act. i have used rme for months now with no issues whatsoever. my only complaint is that i cannot print a ship label like i can with pp. so i go to pp, give myself a penny, and then print a shipping label that way by editing the address to whatever my customers address is. it takes a few extra seconds, but it saves in the fees.

Re: RME?

I love that you use your SS#....it seems safer to me. Cause the person I'm exchanging with had to give their social too....which means they can be found by the police if they scam me.

I have had issues twice with not getting my items and paypal said that I couldn't prove what I had purchased because it wasn't with e-bay and they weren't able to look at the "listing". In my opinion paypal doesn't have a very good buyer protection either.

Re: RME?

yeah I thought I was protected with PP... then I bought a crib set off eBay. they sent me one with pink not yellow.. well it was for my SON and PP said nope, not a significant diff. so I was SOL. and eBay said file with PP
I love having RME and hope it becomes more widespread soon

BTW: anyone looking to buy a crib set with denim and mauve stripes with mauve stars?
