Re: Defining EC for people who haven't heard of it.
Awesome!! My DD is 6 1/2 months also and my DH also thinks I'm crazy, that it's just a coincidence, but I'm bound and determined to prove him wrong! And maybe soon HE'LL be bragging too!!
Hopefully! Can't wait to get started!

super helpful... I have to admit before I read this I thought EC was ridiculous. A good reminder as to why people should educate themselves on an issue before passing judgment. I admit I was wrong about EC

Re: Defining EC for people who haven't heard of it.
I define it as caring for my baby 100%. I listen when she is hungry, tired, in pain, over stimulated, and....when she has to potty. Odd, how this has been excluded from standard care for our children.
For me, it is my personal desire to never allow my baby to sit in her own excrement for more than second, preferably never if I get her to the potty. However, when this statement is said, other parents seem to be offended - as it just made them realize the strongness of my statement, and it seems to make them question their own parenting. I feel sorry for them b/c they were never given the option for something else (or else never researched it). Like how we promote formula vs breast - we promote diapers vs EC. If it makes money for big business then you hear about it. |

Had heard of this but never quite 'got it' until just now. I think I'm going to discuss this with DH over dinner tonight.

Re: Defining EC for people who haven't heard of it.
I've been wondering exactly how this works...I thought it was a lot more complicated than it is! I often let my 2 1/2 month old go diaperless because he seems happier and I have noticed that before he wets he gets this weird deer in the headlights look and gets really fussy (cues?). I think I'm going to try this method.

100% love this idea but also 100% sure DH will conclude i've finally lost it. (he was hesitant to CD'ing to begin with too but now is somewhat okay). looking forward to reading more about what other gung-ho EC moms did with their hubbies to convince them to try it!
