PSA: Please read Re: pics of your kids on the net

I received this message on Flickr today:

Hi, I am not sure if you have checked out this site, dcm1720021@yahoo.com, but this man has you daughter on there. He currently has about 221 pictures of little girls (all sleeping) I have filed a formal complaint against him. I also have reported him to an online predator investigation group. Please, go to his site and put him on ignore and it will take you daughter off his site, I did and it took only about 5 minutes for them to remove my daughters picture, then please file a complaint with Flickr to get him off the site. This is scary. I have had several parents write me with the same concerns. Thanks Cindy

I went to his site and it had already been shut down, but I contacted Flickr and they said that he was shut down for using others photos without authorization and they could not confirm whether or not my pictures were actually on his site.

I went to the flickr account of the woman who sent me the message and she seems like a normal mom, not some weirdo who would make this up for giggles. So, I have no reason to believe that Presley's pictures weren't on his site (since I have at least 3 or 4 pics of her sleeping on my flickr).

So, I wrote the woman back and she just responded to me as I was typing this up:

HI Amanda. The way I found out was: I noticed someone had put a picture of my 3 yr old daughters picture on thier favorites. I went and looked at the picture and thought it was an odd one for someone to pick. She was covered with a blanket top part of her body was showing...so i went to his site and checked out his other favorites and was shocked at what I saw. At that time he had 160 little girls sleeping, by the time I contacted flickr and a couple of other parents he had went up to 210. Myself and 2 other mothers sat up until 1:00am writing emails to all the parents of the little girls and I guess so many people made a complaint to flickr that they shut him down. At any rate, when he messed with my baby, he messed with the wrong child....For future reference, I found out his name is Donald Marshall....he is a very heavy set, sloppy looking kind of man...keep you eye out for him in case he comes back under a new name. I have since went in a put most of my kids pictures to private. It's a shame we have to do that. I hope you have a good night, Cindy...ps, I can't remember what picture he had of your daughter, but it was one of her sleeping.

Yeah, im a little creeped about posting pics of my DD. The only pics ive posted have been of here in her carseat. My myspace and photobucket are both private and never have a picture of her on the front. Its really sad.
