for those who are done....
Do any of you have issues w/your kids wanting to wear diapers like their friends?
DD is 28mo she’s been pl since age 2 we started ec when she was 18mo and it went very very well. no stress, she was 'graduated' by 2 - she goes weeks w/o accidents But, ALL of her friends and ALL of the kids in her dc wear diapers. Apparently, a few of the kids in her class will pee on the potty on occasion, but none w/any regularity. Every once in awhile, esp after a playdate w/her friends, she just starts peeing in her pants. And she’ll say that the pp belongs in her panties. To which we remind her that it does NOT belong in her panties, that it belongs in the potty and she can either tell us ahead of take herself to the potty. Or sometimes she’ll ask for a diaper or pullup. Which I say No to. Anyone else? Her main dcp tells her that the other kids aren’t as advanced as her and she needs to show them how to go on the potty – I don’t know what the others say.

Re: for those who are done....
wow - wish i had some great advice for ya. that's an odd situation. my DD wasn't in dc, but did play with other kids her age (and older) that were in diapers and she always thought it was weird/gross and would actually ask me why they still went in their pants and didn't they understand they were supposed to go in the potty like her? LOL in fact, she was very confused by one little boy we knew who had a very difficult time with PT'ing and didn't stop wearing a diaper until maybe a year ago - he was probably 4.5 at the time. it really upset her when he would poop or pee in his pants when we were around.
maybe you could use the 'big kid' approach? i'm not big on using the 'big kid' angle in general, but DD sort of took it and ran - at the time DD graduated she also got a baby brother, so she was very keen on distinguishing herself from the baby and that was one way she was able to do it. and DS, of course, knew that his big sis peed in the potty and would follow her in there all the time (much to her chagrine!) and wanted to emulate her. he would actually say to me "i'm big like sissy and i go in the potty." we never said that to him, but that's how he processed it.

Re: for those who are done....
when we push the 'you're big now' angle, she starts to cry and say "I'm little"

Re: for those who are done....
Interesting that she sort of wants to regress for some reason... Is there something "little" people get that she wants? It's probably a passing phase. I never really thought about this aspect of ECing. Keep us posted on how this goes and what you do.

Re: for those who are done....
Hmmm...no experience, but what is that she's seeing in the diapered kiddos that is so desirable? Is it the convenience of not having to stop playing? Does she think diapers look cool? Does the attention that the other kids get when they are being changed appeal to her? Maybe she feels lonely being the only big kid that has to go to the potty all by herself while at daycare while the other kids get special attention when they go in their diapers?

Re: for those who are done....
I tend to agree with pp that it is a phase. It is somethings I've heard from my own non-ec dc's. Not really the exact situation, but similar regression attitudes.
Make peeing her pants more inconvenient. Continue saying NO to dipes/pullups. If she soils herself go through the whole routine of cleaning up and have her help put the soiled clothes in the hamper, etc. But, do it matter-of-factly. The point would be to remind her how fast and easy it is using the toilet. Also, give her extra snuggles and cuddles. They get independent so fast, maybe she is needing a little more "little" time. yk? It sounds like pointing out that she is different or more grown up than her friends is bothering her??? Sorry if I'm repeating.

Re: for those who are done....
YES! We went through the whole "I'm little" phase too. I think PP is dead on with saying that she's probably just wanting extra huggy time.
My DD was completely PL'ed at about 20 months, and most of her friends were still in dipes or just starting to train when she went through this phase a few months later. You do just have to find the angle that works best for your daughter. Mine wasn't biting the "you're big" line, so I switched to saying that she could help teach her friends to go on the potty by showing them how well she does it. It completely stopped the accidents. The funny thing is, it really did jumpstart her friends' PL'ing.

Re: for those who are done....
Hmmm...that's a tough one. Presley completely potty trained herself a few weeks ago (she's 23 months) and our issue is the opposite. She doesn't want to wear ANYTHING. No diaper, no pants, no panties. Nothing!
Of course, she's rarely around any kids her age so she doesn't see other kids wearing diapers.

Re: for those who are done....
My son was out of diapers in the day at 14 months and 17 months all together and he OFTEN asked to play wearing a diaper. He thought it was the funniest thing, he would wear them and run around the house in them even wehn he was 4 he was still asking to play in a diaper at times. I allowed him to since I never saw any harm in it. He did not do what you are describing though like going to the bathroom in the diapers or undies after hanging out with diapered friends. He was very insistant that he was playing in the diaper and never actually used it for any sort of potty use hehe.
