Re: Nanny cam saves baby

I am so sorry that happened. Thank whomever that you were able to stop it before any permanent physical dmage was done to your lovely little girl.

I hope that b**** gets what's coming to her.

Don't beat yourself up, either--you did everything you should have done to check her out first. No one could have done it better--she was just a darn good actress.

That gives me a sick feeling in the deep pit of my stomach. I am so glad I am able to stay home with my girls.

Re: Nanny cam saves baby

http://www.scnow.com/midatlantic/scp/home.html

The police finally released the video to the parents from the nanny cam. Unfortionately they didn't do it right so it only recorded the first 2 hrs. But on the news site, within the first few seconds you can see the nanny pretty violently shaking Caroline. The mom, Leslie, said the rest of the abuse is further in the day and they don't have that part of the tape yet.

Well, anyway, it speaks for itself. And I will post if I hear anymore.

Oh, and Leslie said that CBS news wants to do a show once they get the full tape. So if I find out when it'll be on TV, I'll post.

I just want to note that the point of my posting this goes beyond just sharing a horrible story, it is to try and build awareness. As the lady on CNN prompted Leslie to install a nanny cam, I would hope that Leslie's story would prompt someone else and potentially save another baby. It's sad to think that you just don't know about people, but sometimes you really just don't know.

ETA: I just watched the first 10 seconds again (the part where she shakes the baby) and it brought back to mind about my friend who worked at a school for mentally challenged kids. She said that the majority of the kids at the school were not born that way--that they were the result of shaken baby syndrome. It has stuck with me ever since just how delicate a baby is and how easy it would be to turn a normal baby into a mentally disabled baby who would have to be in special education the rest of their lives. And just how blessed Caroline is that she has not become one of those statistics.

OMG, some of the comments. People don't see anything wrong with this woman SHAKING a baby! Over and over!

That was just chilling to watch.

omg. I'm sick, I couldn't even finish watching it. My heart breaks for that family, that baby, that mom

I jumped every time she hurt, shook, violently handled that baby.

OH MY GOD. That breaks my heart. My daughter is just this age. How anyone could do that to a little baby.

My heart goes out to the parents. I can't imagine how much pain they must feel seeing that video. Poor baby...just wants to be held.

Oh my goodness, I couldn't watch more than the first 10 seconds of that video. I feel sick!
I am SO glad they caught her before it was too late! And so glad that sweet baby girl wasn't injured seriously! Poor little thing!

I'm very happy to know that she's safe now.

That is why I'm thankful I can stay home with my children. I forwarded it to DH just to remind him... I don't trust ANYONE but me and DH with our kids.
