Re: No signs of labor at 39 weeks?

My water broke before my contractions started last time. Hang in there.

Re: No signs of labor at 39 weeks?

This happened with my second child. I went to bed early two days before my due date because I was starting to get depressed that nothing was happening and I woke up an hour later with contractions and had him 3 hours later. Don't despair mama, stranger things have happened.

By the way I love your girls' names. I have a Caitlyn and a Brooke but just in opposite order.

Thanks for all the replies mamas! It's good to know that I'm not necessarily destined to go overdue. I just hear all these stories of mamas having BH for weeks before labor and it made me wonder where mine were!

I didn't have any and I was just a few days overdue. In fact, when I went into labor no one (including myself) believed me! My water never broke that I was aware of (must have happened in the shower or birthing tub), no mucus plug... The midwife said it had to be practice labor b/c I was too calm Sheesh, I should hope I'd be calm... I would hope I didn't pay $300 for the Hypnobirthing books/cds/class for nothing!!!

Re: No signs of labor at 39 weeks?

Oh Mel, I hear ya! Im officially overdue as of today

With Gemma, I had lots and lots of BH from the time I was probably 28 weeks or so, and I DO remember having them pretty regularly two nights before she was born. The only other pre-labor signs I had was that my bowels really, uh, "emptied" the night before and that I had a total burst of energy. Next thing I know, Im awake at 5am with contractions and cramping.

This pregnancy, as I've said, has been completely opposite in almost every way. I rarely ever have BH, and even when I do, they are mild and I don't generally notice them unless my hand is on my stomech. I've been exhausted and horribly hungry for the last two weeks (got the weight gain to prove it!) but no sign of baby yet.
Tonight Im tackling DH and hopefully DTD might kick things into gear!

Good luck Lisa. I hope Eliah decides to show for you soon too!

I've been tackling DH every night for a week and NOTHING!

OOOH! Shawn should consider himself SO lucky. Mark has been after me for the better part of two weeks and I keep finding myself either too tired or too uncomfortable and I keep turning him down....poor guy! I already told him on the phone that he's "getting lucky" tonight!

I had no signs of labor before either of my boys (well I dropped the morning of my second delivery but other than that nothing)
Didn't lose my plug at all the 1st time, and not until about 2 hours before i had #2.

I just make myself no matter how tired or uncomfortable! If it works it's worth it. That's what I keep telling myself anyway. I don't hear Shawn complaining about it anyway.
