Baby acne? Help...It's bad!

Ok my dd is almost a month old and has white heads sooooo bad. There are hundreds all over her face, head, back of neck and under her chin. I thought they were going away and they just keep coming which makes me wonder if it is something I am eating. When she was first born she got what the doctor called "baby acne" and it would come and go on a daily basis, but that was the first week or two and then it was clear. Now it's a whole other story. I took her to the doctor because she had a little fever and the doc said she has a cold and he just said to keep the acne "clean" nothing more. This is my first child and I am breast feeding so if any of you out htere have advice I could really use it! Thanks

My DD had it for about a month or so starting at about 6 weeks old. I just washed it with plain water gently with a washcloth. They eventually went away.

Do not touch it. Other than normal washing of your baby.

It can last months, but its considered normal.

Doctors say do not squeeze it or pop it.
Just let it be. It looks bad but its normal. Some just get it worse than others.
My LO had it and had very dry skin for a few weeks.

I know its hard to see your little baby with this stuff, but just think his/her skin was in this perfect environment inside you and now its exposed to our world. Its adjusting. Also, mother's hormones play a part of baby acne.

Yeah my DD (now 3 months) had this REALLY bad about the same time that your LO is now. It was all over her face and head and even down to her neck, it was awful! But I found that with regular washing with a very gentle baby soap and keeping it dry and clean it went away rather quickly ( in a few weeks) and hasnt come back. This is my 3dr baby that I have BF and the first time this has happened to us. Ironically my other two had a bit of a milk sensitivity and my dd doesn't. Anyway i didnt change my diet and now its completely gone.

The best tip I got for baby acne was expressing a little breastmilk and putting it on a cotton ball and gentle cleaning your child's face with it. Just let it be on there. Helps a lot.

Yup! I rubbed DD's face with breast milk and it looked TONS better very soon after. She didn't have it very long, maybe about a week or so total and got it around 5 weeks.

My DS had is until he was 2 months old and he he still has a little here and there. I just wiped his face with a wet washcloth a couple times a day. It goes away. Don't mess with it. It's just a fact of being a baby

The breast milk tip sounds great, I wish someone would have told me that. Try to leave it be, DD didnt have it really bad but she did have some that lasted for a month or so. They did eventualy go away and it was so hard to not touch them. If the BM doesnt help try using a mild baby wash. It will clear up.
