Shipping via paypal

I have never clicked on the "print shipping label" button in paypal. I just take my stuff to the counter at the PO.
How does it work if you print your own label? Do you just need to know the weight of the package and that's it? Or weight and dimensions? And is it cheaper to do it this way?

If you print your own label, can you just put it in your home mailbox to be picked up or do you still have to take it to the PO?

You need to know the weight. Dimensions for priority. DC is only .18 so yes it is cheaper. I believe you can just stick it in your mailbox for the mailperson to pick up. I usually just dump them in a mailbox at the post office. Becasue I drive by one so it goes out quicker. But no standing in lines I go in and usuallyinthe lobby they have a place to drop mail off. I've put smaller ones in the mailboxes outside the post office too.

it's cheaper if you get a scale... estimating the weight won't do much for you though because you'll either overpay or underpay (and end up going to the PO anyway).

Otherwise, it's definitely easier and cheaper in the long run.

If your package is over 13 oz, it may be worth your while to go to the PO b/c you can select "parcel post" there. With the PP shipping you are forced into Priority at that weight.

You can still get parcel post on paypal. But it is .18 more for DC.

Ah ok. I found it. Have to go to Multi Order Shipping for it... I don't think it'll let me if I just click the "print shipping label" from my transactions summary list.
