Operation Baby Weight: Hired a Personal Trainer at the Gym ~ Updated 06/19
I finally bit the bullet and went to the local gym and hired a personal trainer. I'm pretty scared but excited...I think scared because I know it if going be hard work and dedication to this, but I am ready finally. I have just become really unhappy with my current weight and body image. I'll be getting up and going to the gym at 4:30 am while dd is sleeping and dh will be sleeping too. Maybe I'll make this thread my personal workout log.
I want to lose about 30 lbs.

Re: Operation Baby Weight: Hired a Personal Trainer at the Gym
Congrats! I had a personal trainer when losing baby weight from ds#2 and it was awesome--definitely worth the money. And once you get going, you might find you can do more workouts on your own and only do a personal session every few weeks or so to get some new inspiration and learn new exercises--that will cut down on the expense. But to start, more frequent sessions can really make the difference between going out and doing it or staying home on the couch!
Do they have a babysitting room you're comfortable with?

I need to do that. I always say it would be a waste of money cause its not like I don't know 'how' to workout. I just need someone standing there kicking my bootie. Good luck mama!

So I went for my consult today and I am pumped! Tomorrow will be my first morning of the workout...at 430 am. I believe we are going to do it 'bootcamp style'...hmmm, interesting. Plus, we went over some meal plans and going grocery shopping today after nap time

Please let us know how it goes! This is something that I would love to do but don't know how I would justify the costs. hmmmm.... I'll have to see how you do I guess!

Re: Operation Baby Weight: Hired a Personal Trainer at the Gym ~ Journal
Well it's wasn't so bad!! Mind you it was the first day and all. Got there at 430 and I did a warmup on the treadmill, then we went through all the weight machines I will be using, plus some free weights. Then we did abs, my nemesis.
Then after the workout I got my body fat tested with the calipers, measurements, and weight. I was thinking maybe I should take a before pic and put it in here. I probably will treat this as a journal/diary/log of sorts...hopefully y'all don't get bored! I will be doing something called 8 week bootcamp (or maybe it's 12 weeks, i can't remember right now). Today I finish off by going on a brisk walk and then tommorow is my cardio day : 30 mins.

Re: Operation Baby Weight: Hired a Personal Trainer at the Gym ~ Journal
This morning was my 2nd session with the trainer and we did a new weight training regime today. Apparently I am 'ready for bootcamp' in another 2 sessions. I think because I used to do weights and I am not really a beginner, but it's been so long and it is slowly coming back to me now.
Last night I did 1 min fast walk/1 min run for my cardio for 30 mins with dd in the jogger and dh walking the dog. It was great, prob. too cuz they weather was nice. Today i need to do my cardio as well. Even after three days of this, i feel great!! And the new eating plan is going really well too. I did crave sweets later at night, but i just went to bed; had to anyways cuz of the early time at the gym. The next 2 days I have off from the gym or any major cardio session.

Re: Operation Baby Weight: Hired a Personal Trainer at the Gym ~ Journal
Time for an update:
Things are going well...I feel stronger and healthier...lost a couple of pounds too, although I was told not to focus too much on the scale because I will be building muscle. So I am in the first week of the bootcamp training and it is pretty brutal honestly, but I am just making myself do it. My dh has been great with making me get up at 4 am! He's a super motivator. Oh I also took before pics in a bikini, but I am not going to post them here yet. Anyways since I am going away for 2 days, my next session is wednesday.
