Best way to get out spit-up stains?

I am getting out ds's old newborn clothes for the new baby and some items that I don't remember being stained have yellowish spit-up stains on them now.

What's the best way to try to get those out? Oxy-clean? Sun? I can't bleach.

GL, I have never had luck getting old reappearing spit up stains out of baby clothes unless something was white and could use a bleach pen. I would try oxy and sun though.

I am doing the same thing right now and I took 2 buckets of hot water w/ one scoop of oxy clean for each bucket ( I am soaking about 12 to 16 onesies) and I soak for 24 to 48 hours. They are still soaking but 95% of the time I have been able to get the old spit up stains out of the clothing.

Re: Best way to get out spit-up stains?

Thanks, mamas!
I have some baby oxyclean here already so I guess I will try that first. The worst-looking items are white but have little cutesy things printed all over them so I think a bleach pen would be annoying and wouldn't get it all, anyhow. I don't have any bleach in the house now and am trying to keep it that way, too.

Thanks Janine for the BIZ suggestion - I will have to go out and find that if my oxyclean doesn't work.

It's definately surprising how I don't recall them being stained when I put them away, but obviously over time they have darkened.

I was just looking at my DD's old baby clothes and they're the same way. I know I didn't put them away that way, but now they're all yellow!

I'm experiencing this problem too. I'll be giving some of this a try. Thanks
