Where to find wool and soaker/longie patterns?

It dawned on me this morning that DH's grandma is very talented at crochet/knitting. Extremely talented, and fast! We're going to be using fitteds/wool on this baby. Soo... I'm going to have her knit me some newborn and small soakers and some newborn and small longies. Where can I find a very detailed, good pattern for these? She crochets doll clothes and has done childrens clothing, but, has never done soakers or longies before. So I need GOOD instructions. And where to find wool? Any suggestions?

I use the ladybugz pattern, which is very detailed and good. I like the extra room in the rear to accomodate those fluffy dipes. Also, I belong to a Yahoo group for wool soakers and there are some good patterns in their files.

As for yarn...Peace Fleece is my next to try. I'm not very experienced in the yarn department.

Good luck...and have fun.

Re: Where to find wool and soaker/longie patterns?

I'm just starting out with this, but I've used the Dandelion Dreamers pattern and I'm about to try the Ladybugz pattern. They are both crochet. I also got the LTK Picky Pants pattern and a few other freebies to try when my knitting improves...I still haven't gotten it quite down. The DD pattern is pretty simple and easy to follow...my first pair turned out pretty decent! I'm working on a second pair now. Here's some links:

www.littleturtleknits.com
www.woolywonder.com

Also, try joining the wool soaker yahoo group, they have some cute free patterns in their files section that I've printed out and put in my notebook to try at some point. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wool_s...guid=232460832 (hope that link works...if not, just search at yahoo groups for "wool soaker")

HTH!
