Photo Tutorial for Origami Fold using LL Flat *VERY pic heavy*

Ok... this is the best I could do for the mamas that have been asking for flat folding tutorials. It's not easy doing this by yourself. I'll try to get better pics in a week or so when DH gets in from offshore so he can take the pics while I fold. My 12 year old will NOT be around while I change dd's diapers. LOL He gets embarassed by "ewww naked girl baby."

Ok... You want your flat folded into fours. So first fold it in half, and then fold your flat in half again like shown in the pictures below.

Then you want to take one corner of the flat and make a triangle out of it so that it looks like this.

Then you want to flip it over to create the "soaker" part of the flat. This is what makes this fold so absorbant yet trim. It's because the extra material in the flat is all going between the legs where it can do the best work.

Fold 3 times to make the soaker

This is what it will look like when you're done with the fold.

Next to put diaper on baby You do not need a wipe over your LO's bits. I do that because I don't like her privates shown.

Fold up soaker part of flat over baby's bits.

Ok... you will need to fold up the sides under the baby's butt to create a tight fit otherwise it will sag. This is how I do it. Play around with it until you find the best way to do it for you and your baby.

This is what your diaper will look like when you are ready to snappi or pin if you do it my way.

So then you bring together the sides and voila! You have a baby in an origami fold!

aaahhhh now I see what was wrong. Thanks so much, not sure why I didn't figure this out myself. I too have LL flats but wasn't tucking some under DD's tooshy and they always sag down her legs.
But now thinking about it.. won't it just come untucked when she stands up?

it doesn't come untucked here - works fine even when i pull her wool off it's still all nice and tucked

you can also roll it like the jelly roll fold on a prefold
