Bleached or Unbleached Prefolds? Which do you prefer?

I've heard a lot of good things about prefolds so I think I'll try some. Now for the hard part: which are the best and why?

Bleached or Unbleached?
Regular or Premium?
Infant or Baby sized?
Best brand?
Best place to purchase them?

Thanks so much for your help mamas!

Edited to add: for the sizing question - our youngest is 2 months old and 11 pounds.

Re: Bleached or Unbleached Prefolds? Which do you prefer?

Well now I have tried Bleached and Unbleached and I have to say that I like the Unbleached better. They seem to be fluffier and just softer and nicer on baby's bottom.

The ones we got with our loan kit from a local store are bleached premium chinese PF's and I have to say I don't like them nearly as much as our own Unbleached Premium Indian ones.

The store says they keep the diapers in a rotation for 6 months then donate these PF's are so pilly and just look VERY worn. I haven't had mine for that long but I hope they don't end up like these after 6 months of use.

I like the Indian WAYYY better than the Chinese they seem to absorb more and they are just so much softer and like butter to me than the Chinese ones.

As for size I would buy some infant and some Regular size ones at 11 pounds it seems like your little one will be in the regular soon but you also want something for now hence the infant.

You can always use the infant ones as doublers/liners later anyway.

For pricing when I was looking I looked EVERYWHERE it seemed for the best price and made a word document with price comparison this is what I found:

Re: Bleached or Unbleached Prefolds? Which do you prefer?

I have used both bleached and unbleached, Indian and Chinese. I prefer unbleached Indian prefolds by far. Like PP said, they are much softer than Chinese and seem to absorb a lot. The only thing is they are thicker than my unbleached Chinese so they take up more space and seem bulkier. There is a plus and down side to each kind. I recommend looking at the comparison chart at the cottonbabies.com website, it really helped me out.

I bought a dozen of my prefolds from DiaperWare just because I have always received great customer service from her site, and I had a 5% coupon. However I know that it was not the least expensive site to order from, so I'd just try looking around.

Hope they work out for ya! I love prefolds!
