My cervix disappeared...

I normally check my cervix at night and last night it was posterior and about 50%. Not anymore!!! I was feeling a lot of pressure today and we were running all over the place, well I checked it and actually didn't find it at first b/c I was looking too far back for it. Its now anterior and almost completely gone!!! I hope he waits another week, I have so much going on with work right now that this would be a really bad time. Here's to hoping!!

This may sound gross... but how do you check your cervix? I'd like to know more about my cervix... like what it's doing right now, but I have no idea how to check. It seem so far up in there. Anyway, you don't have to answer. I have my 40 week check up tomorrow and I'll ask my midwife.

LOL no problem, you pretty much just stick your fingers up there and you should normally feel something that reminds you of the tip of your nose w/ a hole in the middle and its usually far back. Mine is now forward and is pretty much nothing now.

Really?! That's it? So why does the gyno charge so much to check it...?
You don't have to be in any silly positions or anything do you? I think I'm going to try it. Thanks.

Lucky you! I had to check mine when we were TTC, it was always low so I had no issues. Since I got pg its so high I cant get it myself. I wish I could because it would make me feel better.

I don't know how to check either...but I guess I could try. OB said it's still high and long so I'm not sure I'd know what to check for anyway.

Wow! That's so cool

Could you send some "cervix go away" vibes this way. I could get to mine a week ago but my OB said yesterday that it's still high and long and even though I am a little dilated it's not much.
