4 dz Pf sounds like a good number to get 2 through 1 1/2-2 days, I think I would go w/ maybe 12 covers, because if you BF you may have to keep your covers washed often. I am expecting and bought 2 dz Pf figuring I would wash every 2-3 days, we will see how it goes. I have 6 covers, but only 2 are newborn, I have a history of 9+lb babies so I don't expect to need newborn size long. In your case I think you would be better off w/ too many covers than have to keep washing after each change, KWIM. You can always sell them and at least get some of your money back, can't do that at all w/ sposies. LOL

Congratulations . . . you are about to join a most elite groups of us - 3 under 3! And 3 in diapers!

I KNOW the shock you are feeling right now . . . and I just want to say YOU CAN DO IT! And it will be the most wonderful thing . . . but I would strongly recommend getting some serious help for the first few days (weeks, if you can).

You are right on with those numbers. I had 3 sets of twin customers born this summer and that seems to be the going number. The good adn the bad with twins is that you don't quite need double but you have to do wash A LOT. Really you shouldn't wash more then 2-3 dozen diapers at a time so having 4 dz means washing every day to day and a half but you have time to get that load done without running out of diapers.

I have some bleached preemie prefolds on clearance if you want to snatch them up.

Cottonmamma.com has her PF on sale right now. She doesn't have premie size but she does have infant I don't know what the suggested weight range is on PF's but thought I would just put that out there. Either way you go, if you just buy a little along you will have your stash ready before you know it. When we used sposies, we would buy a pack a month that way we had several packs ready when the baby arrived. Now that we CD I have tried to do about the same, buy a little along to take the sting out, good thing about CD is that once you have them you don't have to keep buying them. But it is too much fun not too (keep buying that is). LOL

unfortunately you are part of a growing group who wont ship to Canada (at least that is what I understand from the website )

I am keeping my eye on a prefold co-op on MDC so hopefully I can get a deal there...

What part of michigan are you in?.. you are probably the closest diaper store to me actually...my mom goes to michigan to go shopping all the time as we live in SW ontario.

Maybe I could convince her to pick up some diapers for the new babies

Congrats on your twins! and welcome to being a twin mommy and the 3 under or at 3 club lol

when my twins were born my oldest daughter who is special needs had just turned 26 months old it can be tough but it is very rewarding as well! my twins just turned one and my oldest is now 3 and she is still in diapers full time and wont be training anytime soon.

I will tell you that the first 3 months were very HARD, but once they hit 3 months old its all gravy baby!

we had 120 diapers for the twins when we started out and i was able to wash every 1-2 days, i still had clean dipes but since you are washing so many diapers you will still need to wash at least every 48 hours imho! or you will be stuck washing 6 loads of diapers at once!

i had my twins at 35 weeks and 3 days and they weighed in at a whopping 6 pounds 8 ounces for the little boy and my little girl was 6 pounds 1 ounce and the preemie prefolds swallowed them whole lol i ended up trifolding the pf in a cover and changed the cover at every change rinsed it and let it air out and within 3-4 hours it was dry and ready to use again and then it got thrown in the wash at bedtime that night.

Ah, I'm in that special club. I had 3 under 3 for a while, now I have 2 3.75yo and 1 1.5yo. All were in diapers for a while, which is what lead me to cding. However I didn't cd when my twins were little. So basically I'm of absolutely no help whatsoever!

mimid has triplets that have been cd-ed from birth, you could pm her.

congratulations, how exciting!! I would plan to have about 4 dozen newborn/small diapers on hand and some preemie prefolds & covers in case they come a bit early.
