"sposie outfits" and other trimness thoughts...
Do you all have outfits for your lo's that look/fit best with sposies and not-so-good in cloth?
I do try to buy clothes with cd's in mind, but I do have some really cute things where a fluffy bum just doesn't work. I've just decided that some days are "sposy days" to accommodate those outfits. Anyone else do this too? The trimmest option I've found is a prefolds (no doubler) with a dappi nylon cover. This is *almost* as trim as a sposie and can work on those outfits if I don't mind changing more often. Anyone else found a trimmer option?

I don't have any sposies in the house so I either use a trim combo (pockets are usually my trimmest combo) or deal with a bigger butt.

I buy alot of sundresses, bubble rompers or cute covers, that a shirt would look cute with! I like my babies in shirts and dipes mostly...so simple and cute

Re: "sposie outfits" and other trimness thoughts...
My DS has some dress pants that look horrible with a cloth diaper. They make him look like Urkel. Anyway, I can use a prefold & cover with them, but I usually just put him in stretchy pants.
I do miss having him in his cute jeans sometimes, but I've recently moved him up a size in his pants so they will go over the diaper better.

Re: "sposie outfits" and other trimness thoughts...
I try to buy things that I know will fit fine over cloth diapers, but she does have some outfits that look pretty ridiculous. My mom and I tried a pair of shorts on her at Target the other day over a Goodmama, and we laughed so hard we almost cried
. That said, I find that most things fit fine. I bought a lot of dresses for the summer

Re: "sposie outfits" and other trimness thoughts...
I found using a thinner prefold (I think they are 4x6x4 instead of 4x8x4, so fewer layers in the middle) with a dappi pull-on cover was pretty trim and worked for those outfits. Sometimes clothes don't fit right over a big diaper!

There are definitely some days we wear sposies only to accomodate a certain outfit. I aim to be flexible about it all.

Re: "sposie outfits" and other trimness thoughts...
I've only ever bought things that would fit a cloth diaper.
All her clothes now are just dresses and tshirts to wear over wool. Since I have never seen her butt in a disposable, I wouldn't know the difference anyway. |
