Re: Mastitis and busy day what can I do?

I seem to get mastitis about once a month. DS is 13 months old too and just started sleeping through the night. So my supply is in an uproar and I started running a temp today. I am sure by tomorrow it will be full blown. Ugh.

Heat, massage and nursing. If you can stand it, nursing helps the most for me.

Yeah to all the other tips, but I just wanted to add about the massage it helps most if you really massage towards the nipple and put a pretty good amount of pressure. YES it will hurt like he** but it's more effective at breaking things loose

Re: Mastitis and busy day what can I do?

I am feeling much better today and nursing only hurts a little. Thankfully because I was grimicing every time ds nursed and he was freaked out and would stop nursing. So he was the latching on and off which was just making the pain worse! I used a barley - instead of rice - sock with lavender in it. That was lovely. I also drank a gallon of water and had to pee like I was pg lol. Ds only nursed twice last night but I was up 3 times just to go pee lol. Fingers crossed that the worst is over and I am getting better now. Please please please!
