away from home for several days?

I have the opportunity to go to a class for work next month. The only thing I am concerned about is the pumping. It is an airplane ride away...can I just pack the expressed milk in a checked bag? Does anyone have experience travelling away from baby and pumping for several days?

I think the only regulations is that it needs to be in a see-through unit. I nursed on the plane (with a nursing cover), so I didn't have to worry about that, but I think you'll be ok as long as it's in a see-through container!

Don't put your milk in a checked bag!! You have no idea what temps a checked bag might see - I learned that the hard way... You would think travelling from Montana to Michigan in January would be fine, but my milk I checked (in a cooler no less!) was spoiled by the time I got home. Take in your carry-on bag. Check the TSA regs, and I would recommend printing them out and taking it with you in case you get a TSA inspector who doesn't know the regs. You can now carry an unlimited amount of breastmilk on board - not sure if each container still needs to be 3oz or less or not...
